August also saw us attend our 1st ever Cowboy Dressage days with this proving to be our calling. The soft feel & connection required for this discipline is exactly what Aus & I have been working towards for the last few years.
September saw us welcome the arrival of purebred colt 'Cockatoo Park UpNattum'. Wirraway Trademark x Fernleigh Creek Scarlet. This awesome little guy will make someone the best companion in whatever discipline they choose. From a couple of hours old, he has literally been Up-N-Attum! October saw Dreamy (Cockatoo Park Dream), join Aus & I at the Qld State Show. After a little stage fright in the indoor to start the day, at 2yrs old Dreamy went on to remain unbeaten for her age in the led classes winning Morgan Filly 3yrs & under, very happy with how this little lady is turning out. Aussie (Oz Hicountry Mitch) went on to do well in his ridden classes taking out Morgan gelding under saddle, Western Saddlehorse & Best Educated. We also headed out to a local Dressage day in October for our 1st ever dressage attempt. We had a go at two Prep tests coming away with a very respectable 63.25% & 61.4% giving us two second placings for the day. November saw Aus & I head off to Esk to try our hand at our very first Cowboy Dressage test. I was very happy with our results of 60.53% on our 1st ever test. And the judges comment was "Fun ride to Watch". This I feel is our calling & we will be doing a lot more Cowboy Dressage as this unfolds here in Aussie Land! 2017 is going to be the year I head out into ridden competition, both with Aussie & soon to join him, his sister Hayley (Oz Hicountry Heaven Scent). Hayley has just started into work this week after a few years of baby making. I can't wait to see how these two progress with their future. Both paving the way for my amazing colt Wilga Park River Gum to follow suit next year in 2018 as a three year old. Can't wait for this boy to join my ridden show team, he has the most awesome paces & just the best of personalities. He is really going to have that WOW factor. Aus & I started our 2017 off at Allora Show Dressage competition. We did two tests for two 3rd placings, our prep tests scored 73.5% this was a improvement of 10% from last tiime. We also had a go at our first Prelim test scoring a respectable 61.59%. Very happy with my boy.
